It is officially summer and the hot humid nights of July just scream BBQ! Whether you are having hamburgers and brats, or new york strip & lobster tail, this coleslaw will compliment them all, plus it’s fresh and easy to make. With a bag of coleslaw mix, dried cranberries, almond slices, & a bottle of light poppyseed dressing, you have all the makings of a delicious coleslaw that is hard to beat. All out of cranberries? Substitute a granny smith apple (small diced or Julienne) for another sensational combination of flavors. Enjoy the sunshine, the grill, and my ultimate cranberry slaw at your next bbq!
Cranberry Poppyseed Slaw
- 2 bags of coleslaw mix
- 1 cup of dried cranberries
- 1 bag of almond slices
- 1 bottle of poppyseed dressing
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
Mix all the ingredients together in a large glass bowl and stir. Chill for about 30 minutes (optional if you have the time) and serve.

I cut the bottled dressing in half, added plain greek yogurt and a bit of water in it’s place. Just as delicious, but more protein/less fat. I also added some granny smith apples chunks. yuuummmy!
